Old Caz is the quintessential Hopper. With three dirt climbs and descents, an eclectic patchwork of Sonoma County ribbon roads and a creek crossing,Old Caz is the epitome of adventure riding.
All the best roads West and South of Occidental; Coleman Valley, Dillon Beach, Marshall, Chileno Valley, Joy. What more “Joy” could you ask for? No dirt but still an adventure!
New this year: Option #2: A challenging but slightly less epic loop. “Coleman Valley-Tomales” Loop. Both routes start up Coleman Valley to the coast and finish up Joy.
We’ll have two feed zones at Chilleno Valley Grasshopper. The first is at mile 27.3 at the top of Franklin School Rd. The second feed for riders doing the “Full Pull” is at mile 50. You can fill up with Osmo hydration and GU nutrition or water. We will also have other food and snacks for you. If you want, you may leave your personal bottles and food (clearly labeled with your name) at the Breakaway Bikes tent at the start, or with BiciSport and we’ll have them set out for you to grab. You can top off your bottles and grab a quick snack to help you up Joy Rd to the finish.
